By Sharon Aron Baron

The members of C.A.R.E. South Florida are excited to host their first community event supporting a small business on Saturday, September 12.

Held at  Smoothie Jungle Cafe at 8021 West Sample Rd in Coral Springs, C.A.R.E., which stands for Call to Action for Racial Equality, brings awareness to the challenges faced by people of color in America and stands up to racism and prejudice.

Smoothie Jungle Cafe is owned by Parkland residents Dionne Cuevas-Abreu, an immigration attorney, and her husband Geraldo Abreu, a Human Resource professional and Investor.

The event will showcase a young aspiring artist and entrepreneur, Karibu365, offering fashionable ways to stay healthy with natural skincare products and handmade masks, and poems written by Dionne Cuevas-Abreu will be read by 10th grade Marjory Stoneman Douglas students, Arianna Abreu and Gianna Hansen.

The event will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. RSVP on the Facebook event page here.
