InHealth MD Alliance (IMA), a leading independent provider of high-quality primary care physician services in Florida, has launched new telehealth services to protect patients and ensure that they continue to receive the utmost care and attention during COVID-19.
IMA provides preventive care services, acute care, chronic disease management, in-house diagnostic testing, dispensaries and labs, and transportation. Since the pandemic began, IMA physicians have seen a dramatic reduction in the number of visits from ambulatory patients, part of a national trend. Elderly patients are the most susceptible to the virus, but many are afraid to visit in person or lack transportation.
To combat this pattern, IMA is presenting its patients with virtual health care consultations through an innovative new app on tablets provided by IMA. Using HIPAA-compliant technology, patients can share information in these virtual consultations to discuss new symptoms, mental health concerns or any changes in their well-being they have experienced during the pandemic. These patients can contact IMA and arrange for a staff member to bring the tablet directly to their door to set up a virtual appointment with their physician. Once at the patient’s house, IMA staff will present proper ID and will adhere to CDC guidelines regarding proper safety protocols.
“Our team has successfully implemented our new telehealth services. We are proud to lead the way with this initiative and help our patients through these times. Even though we are in the midst of a pandemic, we must do everything we can to assure our patients that they’ll continue to receive the same high level of care they’ve been accustomed to,” said Dr. Mark Leenay, who took the reins as CEO of IMA in April. “Through our ‘Dial-Me-First’ program, patients can reach their doctor every day of the week at any time. IMA doctors focus as much on prevention as we do on treatment for our patients. The telehealth technology comes at the precise time when doctors are looking to visit patients in the comfort of their own home.”
To help implement this new approach to patient care, InHealth MD Alliance has enhanced its leadership team with several industry-leading executives. In addition to Dr. Leenay as CEO, the company recently welcomed Stephen Jones, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer, Donna Walker as Chief Operating Officer, Sarah Rodriguez, MD as Chief Medical Officer, Sara I. Vélez as Chief Human Resources Officer, and Alex Cornelio as Chief Growth Officer.
Headquartered in Orlando, IMA has additional locations in Lakeland, Davenport, Winter Haven, Lake Wales, Clermont, Oviedo, Kissimmee, St. Cloud and Tampa, where more than 60 physicians serve over 20,000 members under fully capitated risk-based contracts with leading national managed care organizations. Multilingual medical professionals are on staff to ensure that patients can comfortably communicate with their doctors in their native languages including Haitian Creole, Mandarin Chinese, and Spanish. IMA Medical Group is also nationally recognized by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) as a Patient-Centered Medical Home.
