BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- Western Kentucky University is celebrating their 2nd annual Day of Caring today, April 15th.
The Day of Caring is a way to recognize how students, faculty, staff and alumni have demonstrated excellence in their fields and persevered in their communities.
To get involved with the day, people can share part of their WKU story through social challenges and ask others in their social networks to join in the celebration of the WKU spirit.
The student alumni ambassadors were out in Centennial Mall on campus today to get peers to participate. A couple of them said why they love this day so much.
“I just love this day so much because WKU has positively impacted me in so many ways, it has been such a positive experience for me over the last four years and I just wanna show everybody how much I love WKU and share with everybody that,” said the former president for student alumni ambassadors Taylor-Grace Mingo.
“I hope the impact of today will just be to show that WKU students care about WKU. And that WKU alumni cares about WKU. It’s not just about the tuition that’s paid, the classes that we go to. It’s about a community building friendships, building long-lasting relationships that will carry you throughout the rest of your life,” said junior member of the student alumni ambassadors Jordyn Secrest.
They also said another way to show support is to make a monetary gift to your favorite area at the university.
