TAYLOR COUNTY—Prom will be here before long, and some ladies are already on a hunt for the perfect dress. Prom dress shopping can be expensive, so one area organization is offering dresses that won’t break the bank.
WV Caring will be sponsoring their annual Cinderella Project Sale on beginning today, Saturday, April 10, at the WV Caring Reedsville Encore Resale Shop, located on Route 7 in Reedsville, WV.
The project is a community outreach program that provides young ladies with a more affordable way to shop for their high school prom attire and accessories.
“WC Caring hosts this event to assist young teen women with an affordable way to attend their high school prom. Through generous donations, we are able to open shop for high schoolers across the area, and help make their night special,” commented Cynthia Woodyard, with WV Caring.
Each year, the shop contains thousands of dollars worth of beautiful, gently-used prom and formal wear, clothing, shoes and all the accessories one would need to transform them into a princess for the prom.
“There are some new dresses with tag still on them, as well,” Woodyard added.
According to a release from WV Caring, dresses, shoes and handbags are sold for only $5 each. Any proceeds made from this annual shop go back into benefiting patient care for WV Caring.
There will be a two-dress limit for shoppers and all purchases are final.
Additionally, the sale will also be taking place at the WV Caring Resale Shop on Route 19 North, at 603 Bellview Blvd, in Bellview, WV. Both locations will be featuring the Cinderella Project sale from 9:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, steps are being taken to ensure the safety of shoppers, volunteers and staff.
“The store will be limited to five teens, with one guest each, at a time to shop. Masks are mandatory, and social distancing will be enforced,” Woodyard explained. “During this prom sale, the store will be closed to the public; however, starting Monday, April 12, dresses will remain on sale through May.”
The Resale Shop hours are Monday-Friday, from 9:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., and on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.
There is still plenty of time to find that perfect look for prom night, and the folks at WV Caring want to help you with your prom needs!
Proceeds from the sale are used to benefit hospice care for WV Caring’s patients and families, who do not have an ability to pay for the highest quality of care that they need and deserve.
