The number of COVID-19 patients being cared for by the largest health care provider in Western Massachusetts continues to fall.

As of Saturday, the health care system is caring for 33 hospitalized patients with confirmed COVID-19 infection, three of whom are in critical care units. An additional 28 are under investigation for possible COVID-19.

Baystate Medical Center in Springfield is caring for 32 of the confirmed cases and 19 under investigation. Baystate Noble Hospital is caring for one confirmed and one under investigation. Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield is caring for five confirmed and Baystate Wing Hospital in Palmer is caring for three possible patients.

Last Saturday, Baystate was caring for 51 hospitalized patients with confirmed COVID-19 diagnoses across its four Western Massachusetts hospitals. Of those patients, a dozen were in critical care. An additional 33 hospitalized patients were awaiting test results for COVID-19 infection.

Baystate has tested 15,129 individuals for COVID. 13,267 tests have come back negative; 1,811 positive and 51 are still pending results.
