Cloth face coverings are one of the best tools we have to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Since May 22, 2020, everyone in Whatcom County has been directed to wear a face covering while at any indoor or outdoor public space where they may be within six feet of someone who does not live with them.
Here are some tips on wearing and caring for your cloth face covering:
- Wash your cloth face covering after each day of use. You can hand wash or put in the washing machine.
- Store your cloth face covering in a clean paper or plastic bag when not in use.
- Keep a spare cloth face covering in the car in case you unexpectedly need one.
- Wash your hands before and after removing your cloth face covering, and only touch the straps when removing, not the mask.
