BAY CITY, MI - Health care and some other workers looking to get their COVID-19 vaccines will now be able to sign up in Bay County to get in line.

The Bay County Health Department announced on Tuesday, Dec. 22, that health care and other critical infrastructure workers, as defined by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, in Bay County may register to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by completing the survey linked here.

Those workers include, but are not limited to, K-12 school and child care staff with direct contact with children, some workers in 16 sectors of the Critical Infrastructure Protection Program, staff in homeless shelters, corrections facilities and congregate child care institutions, and workers in non-hospital laboratories and mortuary services.

We encourage all health care and critical infrastructure workers do their part - get registered and get vaccinated,” said Joel Strasz, Public Health Officer at the Bay County Health Department.

The health department’s goal is to have 70% of Bay County residents vaccinated by July 4, 2021.

According to the health department, the registration survey takes about 15 minutes to complete and must be completed in a single session. Workers completing the survey will receive an email notification for an appointment when the vaccine will be administered to them and the vaccinations will occur at Bay County clinics or other partnered medical facilities.

How soon an individual appointment will occur will depend on health department’s supply of vaccine, the local demand for vaccine, and the individual’s prioritization relative to others.

“The online registration process gives us the opportunity to protect the health of our community by getting the right people the vaccination at the right time,” said Strasz

Before getting started on the survey, respondents are asked to have the following information prepared:
