In Wiggins for the 11th year in a row, Caring and Sharing served their community, providing everything to make Christmas dinner.

Due to COVID, the event location and set up were a little different. Usually everyone is welcome to the fair grounds and spends Christmas Day having a hot Christmas meal.

This year, the organizers decided on a drive-thru brown bag pick up.

Each visitor would drive up and receive a Christmas hand-colored brown paper bag decorated from students at Stone Elementary and inside would be the canned goods and ingredients for a Christmas meal. Founder of Caring and Sharing Geralda Mclendon said, “We were thinking well we just didn’t want to give them out a plain brown bag. Stone County Elementary kindergarten was nice enough to draw and paint and decorate our bags for us.”

Founder of Caring and Sharing Dick O’Neal said, “We had a drive-thru here. We passed out brown paper bags and they had canned goods in them and sweet goodies and bread and other things that they can prepare for Christmas.”

This year, over 100 brown bags were given to families in need of a Christmas dinner.
