CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - In the first installment in The UCHealth and Cheyenne Regional Medical Center recently announced partnership.
Wyoming News Now talked with the LifeLine Crew about adding resources to local first responders.
“Anytime, for any emergency we can treat high-risk trauma calls, we carry blood on every call, so we can help do the mass transfusions and resuscitate patience a lot sooner in the field before they even get to the hospital,” UCHealth LifeLine, MB/FP-C, Jennifer Kerr said.
Over the past several weeks, flight crew members have been working with the CRMC emergency department and intensive care unit as well as other local first responders.
LifeLine says its core mission is to make advanced level care available to patients,
Meanwhile medical officials agree a major benefit of the new service is that LifeLine flight crew will be assigned permanently to CRMC.
“I feel like we are their eyes in the sky. We’re able to bring that level of care to them before they get to the facility. We also offer this critical care expertise that you don’t always have in rural areas, so we’re able to bring that flying ICU to the area,” UCHealth LifeLine, CFRN, Leanna Harpman said.
