NORTH GREENBUSH, N.Y. — New local business The Face Space is a modern facial bar offering professional skin care solutions as well as brow shaping, body waxing and lash services.
The Face Space, which opened earlier this year, is located in Suite 204 of The Suites at 16 N. Greenbush Rd.in North Greenbush near Hudson Valley Community College.
As a modern facial bar, the Face Space aims to offer clients an experience that’s somewhere in between a spa and a clinic, founder and owner Erin Goyer-Bink explained.
“I, as an esthetician, just felt like the industry in upstate is a little bit farther behind than larger cities like New York,” said Goyer-Bink, of Averill Park, who strives to bring the industry’s newest techniques to her home area.
A Grafton native, Goyer-Bink studied at the Aesthetic Science Institute in Latham. After working in the field locally, she identified a need for a different type of establishment in the region – a place that could blend provide aspects of a luxurious spa day while focusing on the long-term health of a client’s skin through regular visits.
So, Goyer-Bink came up with a modern facial bar concept and called it The Face Space.
By offering an environment that people are more likely to visit on a monthly or even more regular basis, this helps clients achieve real changes in their skin.
Furthermore, the facial bar was created to be an inclusive space that invites conversation about skin – where clients are always welcome to ask questions, and the estheticians can make knowledgeable recommendations by getting to know clients and their lifestyles.
Though plans for The Face Space were delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the business finally opened its doors this spring, and has been welcoming new clients ever since.
On The Face Space’s menu, visitors can choose from a variety of facial treatments, including some corrective treatments focused on certain issues such as acne, anti-aging and hyperpigmentation.
Professional brow shaping, full body waxing and lash services are offered at The Face Space too.
In creating a team for The Face Space, Goyer-Bink carefully chose employees each with their own expertise.
“We really have found specialists and experts in each area,” Goyer-Bink said. “I really tried to find what our estheticians love to do, and really help them grow in those areas and be successful in those areas with their clients.”
While she specializes in acne treatment, Siobhan Cornell is the in-house anti-aging specialist, Toni Divine is the brow specialist and Erin Regensburger is the lash specialist. Goyer-Bink’s mother, Sandra Goyer, is the operations manager.
In about six months, The Face Space staff has already built a lot of great relationships with their clients, Goyer-Bink said.
In addition to services, The Face Space also has a retail section for skincare products, which are also available for purchase online at its website.
Looking ahead, Goyer-Bink is already thinking about how the business can expand. She plans to add more services including permanent makeup and HydraFacials in the near future, while continuously staying in tune with the industry’s latest techniques.
Beyond that, Goyer-Bink said she would eventually like to have multiple locations of The Face Space, along with more staff members and extended hours.
The Face Space is currently open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
Virtual consultations can be scheduled for out-of-area clients as well.
