CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - With the summer months right around the corner, you may be looking for somewhere to keep your kids safe during the day. The YMCA of Natrona County offers multiple options for child care, including both full time and part time services.
“We like being able to provide parents the opportunity to keep their employment first and foremost to provide for their kiddos and them having a safe place that they feel like their kids are welcome to come,” said Amanda Konings, the Youth Development Director for the YMCA of Natrona County.
The Y offers an infant-toddler program as well a pre-school program. They also have a drop-in program for parents who are working out at the Y. The YMCA of Natrona County is one of the only organizations in town to offer care for school-aged children.
During the summer, they have a camp for kids. Incoming kindergartens are eligible for that program, therefore, the Y sees a significant increase in attendance for the summer camp, while their infant-toddler numbers decrease during that time.
The YMCA of Natrona County hopes to expand their services as the need for child care is growing across Natrona County.
“I would love to be able to expand our program to take more kids. There is a high demand in Natrona County right now, and lots of programs are really full so we are hoping to be able to expand our programing to accept more kiddos,” said Konings.
