One of the most noble efforts from the cannabis industry in recent memory is underway. Realm of Caring (RoC) announced a one-year partnership with Bloom Medicinals to promote medical cannabis research, in collaboration with John Hopkins University School of Medicine.
The partnership falls under a larger RoC research initiative, with a mission to promote the quality of life for people who treat conditions with medical cannabis-based treatments. RoC recently published initial results of this research with Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, showing measured improvement of quality of life and health satisfaction via self-reported data.
“We’re thrilled to work together on this necessary research,” said Heather Jackson, co-founder of RoC. “The cannabis industry needs research on how patients are utilizing cannabis products in regulated markets and their resulting health outcomes. We’re committed to closing that gap.”
“We believe in working with the best professionals. Realm of Caring’s collaboration with Johns Hopkins University for the largest US Observational Research Registry (ORR) on cannabinoid therapy is exactly the kind of research project we want to be a part of,” added Nicole van Rensburg, CEO of Bloom Medicinals.
RoC was originally developed to assist families who don’t have the means to afford medical cannabis therapy and products.
The cannabis strain developed specifically for children with intractable epilepsy, Charlotte’s Web, was created by The Stanley Brothers and RoC. Charlotte’s Web is rich in CBD but low in THC, making it ideal for children with small bodies. Charlotte’s Web was named after Charlotte Figi, who tragically passed away at the age of 13. Figi is credited as the one “who inspired a CBD movement.”
Bloom Medicinals is a medical cannabis provider based in Arkansas, Maryland, Missouri, Ohio and Utah. Bloom Medicinals operates in the cannabis, medical diagnostics, pharmacy, legal and retail industries.
