MARSHALL — The annual Light Up the Night event is a source of community pride — and that’s why Ag Plus of Marshall is supporting the event, representatives of the cooperative said last week.
Representatives of the Ag Plus West location presented Prairie Home Hospice and Community Care with a $5,000 grant. Prairie Home Hospice will use the money to support individuals needing hospice care.
“Light Up the Night brings our community together to celebrate the holiday season,” said Kim Culligan, assistant manager at the Ag Plus West location. “We’re proud to support an attraction that infuses the holiday spirit into our town and also supports such a meaningful organization to so many folks in this community.”
The $5,000 grant from Ag Plus and Cenex, the energy brand of CHS, was made possible through the Cenex Hometown Pride initiative. The initiative encourages Cenex dealers, retailers and distributors to share stories about what makes their local communities special. Over the past three years, the initiative has granted more than $300,000 to Cenex communities.
“The Cenex brand is committed to supporting and celebrating what makes hometowns across America special,” said Mark Vanderlinde, communications manager at CHS. “We are proud of our Cenex dealers, like Ag Plus, who play an active role in supporting their local organizations and the people in their community.”
Light Up the Night, an annual celebration with holiday lights and other activities, kicks off its fifth year in Marshall starting Friday night.
