DOYLESTOWN, Pa. (CBS) – Strong winds have damaged parts of the Doylestown Hospital and adjoining buildings, including one that houses a daycare center. Crews were called to the hospital on the 500 block of W. State Road just before noon Tuesday for a report of a roof collapse from possible tornado damage at the Children’s Village child care center.
Hospital officials tell Eyewitness News the children in the daycare are sheltered and are being moved to Lenape Jr. High School to reunite with family.
“As a result of the heroic efforts of the Children’s Village staff, hospital Associates and community first responders, all children and teachers were moved to safety in the radiation vault on the first floor of the Cancer Institute in the Pavilion,” Doylestown Health tweeted. “They were later transported to Lenape Middle School to be reunited with their families.”
Officials said four children suffered minor injuries. They have since been treated and released.

Half a dozen cars in the parking lot were overturned by the strong winds and damaged. A tornado has yet to be confirmed in the area.
Doylestown Health says the infusion center and lobby of the Cancer Institute experienced damage, as did the roof and windows of the Pavilion where physician offices are located.
“We are currently assessing damage and clean-up operations are underway throughout the campus,” they tweeted.
The emergency department, operating rooms and patient rooms remain in service. Some disruptions to outpatient services are expected.
