YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley is seeking volunteers to help distribute food boxes at its Satur-Day of Caring this weekend.
Volunteers will have their cars loaded with packed boxes of food for older adults, shut-ins and those who cannot leave their house because of the coronavirus. Drivers will be given a map of their route and a list of homes to deliver the packages to.
Packing the boxes will begin at 9 a.m. Aug. 15 behind Southwoods Surgical Hospital, 100 Debartolo Place. Deliveries will begin at 10 a.m. and should take at most two hours. Each car is expected to make six to eight deliveries.
