The Elks motto — “Elks Care, Elks Share” — certainly resonates with members of the Chelmsford club who continues to shine when it comes to helping all those in need. The Elks strongly feel that “by helping others, we help ourselves.”
On May 1, the Chelmsford Elks held its annual Community Donation Drop Off event in the lodge’s front parking lot to support two great organizations: the Chelmsford Food Pantry and The Wish Project.
Deb Smith, the personable and dedicated Elks activities director, and her diligent team hustled for four hours and collected a ton of nonperishable items, including paper goods, Pop Tarts, juice boxes, snacks, cereal and macaroni and cheese for the food pantry. Shampoos, conditioners, toothpaste, deodorant, feminine hygiene products, diapers and wipes were collected all for The Wish Project. Also, monetary donations were accepted to help both organizations.
Thank you to all who came out and participated in this event, and to Deb Smith for the great photos.
