Health care for all persons in the commonwealth needs to safely continue while COVID-19 is addressed.
Please know that physicians and health care teams across the commonwealth are here for you and we urge you to contact us by phone, through tele-health appointments or in-person when you need us, and this is especially important if your concern seems urgent to you.
Your physician or their health care team will consult with you and if you require an in-person visit to a hospital or a medical office, you can be certain that these locations will have in place appropriate safety precautions to protect you and other patients.
You are at the center of your health care team and together we will make thoughtful decisions about your course of care.
The importance of remaining as healthy as possible is important, particularly during these times. Please do not ignore your physical, mental and emotional health or forgo checking in with your physician or health care team out of fear of contracting COVID-19 in a health care setting.
We urge all persons to seek care at the onset of any medical concerns – related to COVID-19 or not.
Dr. Maryanne C. Bombaugh
President of the Massachusetts Medical Society.
