LEE COUNTY, Fla. — In the latest update from Lee Health, 191 people are hospitalized with COVID-19 at the Southwest Florida hospital system. That’s the highest number of patients since August 4.
There are nine COVID-19 patients on ventilators and 23 people with COVID-19 are in the Intensive Care Unit. Lee Health has 71 percent of their ventilators and 7 percent of their ICU rooms available for more patients.
Yesterday, Jan. 4, 28 people with COVID-19 were admitted and 25 people who had recovered from COVID-19 were discharged. A total of 4,162 COVID-19 patients have been discharged since the beginning of the pandemic.
Lee Health is reporting a 35.4% positivity rate on COVID-19 tests processed through their labs.
Of all the patients being treated at Lee Health, 13.6 percent are fighting COVID-19.
