Trinity United Methodist Church plans Souper Bowl of Caring fundraiser
The Trinity United Methodist Church Missions team’s first project of 2021 will be the Souper Bowl of Caring/Trinity Cares Day on Sunday, Feb. 7.
The group plans a food drive as well as a clothing drive and toiletries drive.
Souper Bowl of Caring is a youth-inspired movement to tackle hunger in local communities across the nation.
In 2020, thousands of groups collected over $10.6 million in dollars and food donations for hunger-relief charities across the country. Over $163 million has been collected since Souper Bowl of Caring began in 1990.
The missions team will be collecting nonperishable food/cleaning items (within expiration dates). Especially needed are: dishwasher soap, dish soap, shampoo and peanut butter. Grocery bags are welcome too.
The team will also be collecting gently used clothes of all sizes. Especially needed are: winter clothing, boots, men’s jeans, boys/men’s sweatpants and athletic pants.
Toiletries (unopened, prefer full size) are needed, including shampoo, conditioner, soap, razors, deodorant, feminine products, etc.
The donations will be sorted and donated to the House of Neighborly Service food pantry, Thompson School District/Clothe our Kids and Tribal Experience Corner (an agency at HNS that supports previously incarcerated adults).
Cash donations will go to the Food Bank of Larimer County. Cash and checks will be accepted. Checks should be made payable to the Food Bank of Larimer County.
Donations will be accepted at the church, 801 N. Cleveland Ave., Loveland, from 9 a.m. to noon on Feb. 7. To arrange a porch pickup, call the church office at 970-667-4381 and someone will call back to make arrangements for a pick up.
