CHESTER COUNTY, S.C. — A woman is accused of a murderous crime spree across three states that left five people dead, including her husband. Now his family is opening up to Channel 9 about her chilling actions in the midst of the violence.
Adrienne Simpson and Tyler Terry are charged with murder in the death of Simpson’s husband, 33-year-old Eugene Simpson, after his body was found on the side of the road on May 19 in Great Falls.

Eugene’s cousin, Eldrick Simpson and his wife Missy have had full legal custody of Eugene and Adrienne’s two children for a year. They told Channel 9′s South Carolina bureau reporter Greg Suskin that Eugene was very involved in their lives.
“He would come over here, and he had ‘em in school, and they were doing good,” Missy said.
But they said Adrienne wasn’t the same. They said she was in and out of their lives and the conditions they were living in led to her losing custody.
Eugene was reported missing on May 2.
The couple told Channel 9 Adrienne stopped by their house hours after her husband’s body had allegedly been dumped and behaved like it was any other day.
“She’s hugging on the kids. I said ‘OK, that’s good you’re doing all this’, you know what I mean? That’s a good thing, but...why?’” Eldrick said.

“She just sat here and looked at them the same day. Like no remorse. We didn’t see nothing wrong with her,” Missy said.
Days later, she and Terry left for Missouri claiming she had gotten a job there, but instead St. Louis police said two random people were murdered and a third shot for money to buy drugs.
A little over 24 hours later, Memphis police say the pair shot and killed a man near downtown in what also looks like a robbery.

Later that night, Tyler and Simpson would lead Chester County deputies on a chase through two counties after being spotted in a Bojangles parking lot. Simpson was taken into custody after crashing the car, but Terry ran into the woods, triggering a week-long manhunt.
“We didn’t see no signs of her being like this,” Eldrick said. “Not a killer,” Missy added.
Eldrick said he’s thinking of the families in South Carolina, Tennessee and Missouri that are hurting just as he is.
“I feel for those families, man, that had loved ones lost in these situations,” he said.
The couple told Suskin that Adrienne’s children are struggling with the loss of both of their parents and just want to move away and start over somewhere else.
