QUINCY (WGEM) - United Way of Adams County is hosting a "Day of Caring' Friday, June 4th.

Volunteers will be able to give back to their community through hands-on service projects with one of United Way’s partner agencies in and around the Quincy area.

“Not only is this a great volunteer opportunity within the community," said United Way of Adams County Director of Programs and Services, Jenna Hull, "it also is a way for volunteers to see the true value and impact of United Way and the programs and agencies we support,”

Volunteers will gather at Washington Park for check-in and a light breakfast from 8:00-8:30am before leaving for their work sites. Volunteers will be working on their sites from 9:00am – 1:00pm doing any number of jobs and duties.

This year 11 sites have been determined for service projects; Horizons Social Services, Community for Christ assistance center in Camp Point, Cheerful Home, RSVP (Retired Seniors Volunteers Program), Transitions of Western Illinois, The Salvation Army Family Store, Advocacy Network, QUANADA, City of Quincy, YMCA, and the Mississippi River Valley Boy Scouts of America at Camp Saukenauk.

The day is scheduled to end with a rally beginning at 1:30pm in Washington Park.
