For just shy of a century, our world was made better by a legendary leader named Bob Kieve.
White House speechwriter to President Dwight D. Eisenhower, Bob came to San Jose to create Empire Broadcasting in the 1960s.
His bow ties and broad smile were two of his trademarks, but we will always cherish his warmth and wisdom, caring and kindness. Bob served on our Silicon Valley Leadership Group Foundation Board for a decade, and graciously allowed me to serve on his Empire Broadcasting Board for the past five.
I will always cherish the opportunity Bob afforded me to air “The CEO Show” on KLIV for eight years until the station was sold, providing me insights and feedback after numerous weekly shows.
Last year, Bob’s family, and his Empire Broadcasting Family, allowed us to approach San Jose to declare a “Bob Kieve Day” and present him with the Key to the City.
Last Sunday morning, Bob was given the Key to Heaven.
RIP Bob. You touched thousands of us in ways large and small, always for our good.Carl Guardino
