NUTLEY, NJ - Township of Nutley Mayor Mauro Tucci reported that the 2020 Memorial Day Parade in Nutley is canceled. The announcement was made during the open public meeting of the Board of Commissioners on May 19, 2020.
Tucci said that there will be memorials in various locations with limited attendance. Details about the memorials and how to attend virtually will be shared once all the details are sorted.
Franklin Reformed Church will continue their annual "Carts for Caring" project. Carts for Caring is one component of "FRC Has Left The Building," the church's project to go out into the community to serve those in need. 'Carts for Caring' traditionally involves church members pushing grocery carts in the parade to collect food for the pantry at Nutley Family Service Bureau. For 2020, this effort will be virtual. Details about this project will be shared once the details are sorted.
The changes were made because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
