ONEIDA — Due to COVID-19, Karing Kitchen is changing how they hold their Christmas in July Fundraiser.

On Tuesday, July 9 from 9 to 11 a.m. and 3:30 to 5 p.m., Karing Kitchen will be hosting a drive-by donation day at 116 W. Grove St. in Oneida.

Karing Kitchen Coordinator Melissa King said this day is dedicated the memory of the many guests of the program that have been lost in the past few months. “They were greatly appreciated and will be missed by all.”

Food donations as well as hygiene and school supplies will be able to be dropped off to the carts parked near the curb. Monetary donations may also be dropped off at this time or you can continue to mail or donate through the website https://ift.tt/2gYTmrc

100% of all donations go directly to food costs.

King said that due to the generosity of a donor, all donations received — online or during the drive-by drop off — will be matched.

Karing Kitchen’s current needs are but not limited to: microwavable macaroni and cheese, small cans or cups of fruit and vegetables that do not require a can opener, beef raviolis, spaghetti O’s with pop tops, pop tarts, cereal/granola bars, individual packets of crackers/snacks, drink mix ins, tuna fish snack size, protein bars/drinks, gallon size Ziploc bags, cereal, and jelly.

Due to COVID-19, the annual rummage sale has been cancelled. However, Karing Kitchen is still receiving donations for their annual used toy giveaway to be held in December. Items accepted for this event include gently used toys for all ages, games, Christmas decorations/themed items, trinkets and more. Those that are unsure can contact Karing Kitchen for more information.

The annual bottle and can drop off at Cash for Cans on the North-side will continue. Mention Karing Kitchen when doing so. All cans and bottle redeemed for Karing Kitchen in the month of July will be matched by a donor.

“Thank you in advance for your assistance in helping Karing Kitchen in our mission,” King said. “Because of your generosity, we continue to be able to address the needs of our community delivering over 40,000 lbs of food in June.”

Those with questions or need assistance can contact Karing Kitchen at 315-280-0869 and leave a detailed message.
