SAN ANGELO — Health care resources are expanding in San Angelo after the new office of Texas Home Health celebrated the opening of its facility on Tuesday.
Texas Home Health specializes in providing in-home health care services and hospice/end of life care to patients across Texas, but until recently did not have a presence in San Angelo.
Executive director Javin Mitchell said the facility intends to provide patients with a comprehensive level of in-home health care.
"There are personal care services that do some of the things that we do but, we like to look at we do as the whole nine yards," Mitchell said. "We take care of bathing, medication reminders, meal preparation and house cleaning. We are not going to tell anyone we can't do this or do that. We go the extra mile. We set ourselves up as something different. We don't just work with the patient, we care for the patient and their extended family."
Mitchell also said his own background will play a significant factor in how the Texas Home Health model of care will be adapted to the local community.
"I was a sergeant in the military for six years so the veteran population is close and dear to my heart," Mitchell said. "So I want to be in a position to not only take care of the elderly and anyone else who needs it but also the veteran population. We don't look at it as a business. We are just here to help and care for the ones who paved the way for me."
